Advanced Payment Solutions Limited (APS) has announced that it has won yet another award, this time picking up the ‘Best Prepaid Programme Manager, 2011' at the 2011 Prepaid Awards.
The judges' criteria included being able to demonstrate how the programme manager has added real value to the prepaid industry, such as by adding new products.APS has been a pioneer over the past five years, helping to change the definition and perception of the prepaid industry. It has achieved this by focussing its expertise on understanding the relevant UK consumer for its products, and building innovative and often unique offers and services to help improve the way that they manage their money and payments.
For example, APS has recently introduced an electronic banking capability, which has paved the way to offering Faster Payments deposits and an advanced Direct Debit service.
Other add-on services include CreditbuilderTM (designed to help build or improve a customer's credit rating), iAdvanceTM (an instant, short-term loan) and both Euro and US Dollar currency card products.
It's not just APS and the judges who see the value of the services offered. Over 50% of APS' customers, representing tens of thousands of UK adults, have added at least one of these valuable extras. And those that do, tend to keep their Cashplus Account open for significantly longer than the prepaid card industry average, more than twice as long in fact.
What's more, with a Cashplus card from APS, consumers and businesses can virtually eliminate cash and cheque payments. Free bill paying services can be set up in the secure online Members' Area, to take care of hundreds of predefined bills. One off payments can also be set up to any UK bank account, and Direct Debits can be paid from the Account.
The results that APS has achieved with its current portfolio give a clear picture of the major role that the company plays in the prepaid sector. To date, APS has issued just under 600,000 Cashplus cards, processed more than £750 million in payments, provided payment solutions to thousands of businesses and has partnered with some of the most trusted organisations in the financial services industry, including Co-operative Bank, MasterCard, RBS, and the Post Office.
For all these reasons, APS has helped to extend the awareness of prepaid cards to both consumers and business users, helping to promote the industry as a whole and ultimately becoming a natural winner of the Best Programme Manager, 2011.
Richard Wagner, APS CEO, concludes:
"Winning this award confirms that APS has the talent, technology and service delivery infrastructure to provide both consumers and businesses with one of the most functionally rich and robust payment solutions in Europe, backed by high quality customer service."
