What do I need to get a Cashplus prepaid card?
You’re guaranteed* to get our prepaid card as long as you live in the UK and are at least 18 years old. Additional Cashplus prepaid cardholders must be at least 13 years old.
Applying is simple! If you have a valid passport and/or a UK/EU driver’s licence, please provide these forms of identification when you apply, so that we can quickly verify your identity and address.
Don’t have these documents? We’ll try to verify your details with the other information that you provide us. If we aren’t able to do this, we’ll set you up on our Express Access account and send you details on how to upgrade to our Total Access account.
Will applying for a Cashplus prepaid card affect my credit rating?

What’s an eight digit security code?
Keeping your account secure is our top priority, so when you apply for a prepaid card, we’ll ask you to make up your own eight digit code. You’ll need your security code to:
- Activate your card and get your PIN via our automated phone service
- Register for the Cashplus Members Area
- Quickly verify yourself with Customer Services
If you can’t remember your eight digit security code, visit the Members’ Area and click on ‘Forgotten Security Code’. Have your card to hand and enter the details requested. We’ll then email you a reminder.

Alternatively, just check for the confirmation that we sent you after your successful application. If you purchased your Cashplus prepaid card from a retail store, you’ll find this security code in your welcome pack. How do I pay for my Cashplus prepaid MasterCard card?
The fastest and easiest way to pay is securely online with a debit card. If you have already applied for your prepaid card, but would like it quicker, you can still pay for it with your debit card using our application status tracker.
You can also choose to pay for your prepaid card at your local UK Post Office® branch. With this option, we’ll post or e-mail you a barcode letter, which you need to take to a Post Office branch to pay for your prepaid card.
